She looked for him in setting sun
In reddish dawdling clouds
She looked for him in winter showers
In snow falling uninterrupted
She looked for him in diurnal sunlight
In every eventide
Say she looked for him everywhere
In everything unceasingly

She did not find him anywhere
For he was not there
So simple actuality and fair
Yet like a bedeviled lady
She looked everywhere
Then why she looked perennially
For it was a folly
Of a heart steeped in melancholy

Then where is the place of his hiding
Oh yes, her mind her ludicrous mind
What a preeminent place to find
Him for her heart is brimful with memories
Of an admirable boy and his stories
Of his careless smiles
Jolly songs and his masculine wiles
He used to look like that boy

Be happy, marry a great man
I shall remain far away
And pray I shall unknown to you
Live like a queen if you may

Yet if a day comes
In your life laden with flowers
When you shall look for me
And try to remember what was ours

Then remember I shall hold onto that
till that day
And I shall smile and be free
For you still remembered me when I was away

WITHOUT

And then it passed
As all things do
As passes zephyr
Without waking yellow leaves
Dried and pale, ashen yellow leaves
Sleeping on the asphalt

It passed without disturbing
The silence of sweltering heat
Without altering the dead road
Without comforting the burning throat

And then it stopped
As all things do
On the tomb of my dearest
Ah! How dear was she
Only the smouldering road knows
Or maybe, lying around her tomb,
All the dead crows

HOLD

When time is all you have
And all you can do is hope
Some say hope can drive a man insane
Well, I say hope is a good thing

I don’t remember contentions
But a tender touch
I don’t remember falling apart
But a casual stroll hand in hand
A call, a walk, a fight, a smile
A normal day
Well, I hope I can hold you again someday

It’s just that I dream about you every night
Nearly every night
Now and then I hear ‘Get over with it’
So I say I am done
Does that mean clouds come to a halt?
Well No, they just flow
Dreams just flow
They shall be flowing forever

KNIGHT

Among the ruins of his castle, he stands
In his dented armour, battered by the enemy
Head down, not due to defeat
But treachery by some of his own
There used to be a glorious hall in front of him
Here, now blood and death prevails
His ancestors are looking down to him, from above
‘Will he tread the path of honour and courage?’
Same as they did or fade into these relics
Among the bodies of his loved ones, he stands
Shattered and worn out, yet he restrains his tears

Raises his head-, “So far you wrote it
Henceforth I’ll hold the helm of my ship”
And he begins to walk
Crossing the bodies, dragging the sword
Towards the path, that will lead him to his enemies
Among them shall he find some of his own, those he trusted
Waiting for him with spears in their hands
The very same hands that used to carry his crown
“No, forgive I must not, they don’t deserve to be forgiven,
Kill I must, hesitate I must not
Whatever awaits me there,
Stop I shall not”

Soldiers you were made by the Almighty
You have been tested by the devil on every step
Triumphant we came out every time
And here we stand
For the one last battle awaits us
And this time tested by the devil of devils we will be
The enemy has boundless powers of hell
But soldiers we have our swords
And courage beyond the enemy’s imagination
They want battle soldiers, we will give them one
One that is never seen before by the world
Not even by the Gods

Every time a bloodbath we left behind
But here is a chance for us
To write our names on the skies
On the skies of eternity
And echo will our names in chronicles and legends
That will be sung by the generations to come
Outnumbered we are soldiers
And maybe we all will die on this day
But promise me soldiers
“If we die then die will in such a manner
That the Almighty himself has to come on this battleground,
From heavens, to take our souls”

March soldiers, march for the very last time
Such that quakes this earth from the rhythm of our footsteps
March for our loved ones
And for the free lands we live on…..
